Churches
Together Around Knaphill
The
purpose of Churches Together Around Knaphill
is to provide liaison for the area's churches to jointly reach
out to Knaphill and Brookwood communities. Our mission is summed
up in the following sentence:
"We
seek in union with Christ and in partnership with each other
to proclaim Christ to the community through worship and service".
The
main member churches are:
St
Hugh of Lincoln Catholic Church

Brookwood
Community Church and the Strict Baptist Chapel in Knaphill also
have links with us.
The
primary joint activity of CTAK is the King's House Coffee Shop
which is in Knaphill centre. This is open 6 days a week and
sells home-cooked food and drinks to anyone in the village;
quality meals are provided in a welcoming atmosphere. It's run
by a paid manager but all the other members of staff are volunteers.
Through The King's House, the joint churches seek to meet with
members of the community in a friendly and welcoming way. As
there is a strong link with our local churches, ongoing support
and encouragement for individuals is also available. Those who
express an interest are encouraged to join us during our Sunday
services when we worship God.
Other
CTAK activities include organising joint services; these are
held several times during the year, normally at the following
times:
The
week of Christian Unity in January
Good
Friday and occasionally Maundy Thursday services.
An
Open Air Service in Waterers Park, Knaphill during July
The Methodists & Anglicans meet together during two evening
services in August .
A
general service of unity during November
