Brookwood
Homegroup - led by Tim Benson
Many of our Homegroup have other parish responsibilities and
activities that reach out to our local community. We find that
our times together every Thursday evenings at St Saviour's House,
are for spiritual refreshment, sharing and going deeper with
our belief and Faith.
Last year through the Lent season we all listened to the New
Testament using the Bible Society's 'You've Got the Time' personal
recordings. We listened to the readings every day and at group
meetings worked through the material provided. The questions
and discussion helped all of us to understand the Word of God
in new and deeper ways.
During the summer we helped the Centenary celebrations at St.
Saviours by running another Bar-B-Q. It was a wonderful time
meeting and socialising with our many guests with free burgers
and sausages supplied by our local butcher 'Fulks'.
The autumn programme found us studying Paul's letter to the
Ephesians with most members of the group leading a session or
two. This Spring we have given time and focus to do the 'Servant
Course' which will help develop our collective and individual
ministries by clarifying our Spiritual Gifts, understanding
our God given Personalities and helping us understand the Passion
God has put into our hearts.
We are also planning to do the two parish organised Pastoral
Training sessions in March along with the Lent sessions material
our Ministers have produced.
We are a welcoming group who would like to share and spend time
with more people. If you would like to join us please talk to
me, Tim Benson, or any member of the group. You can also contact
the church office on 01483 473489, or via e-mail.
Our prayer is that we continue to develop as Christian people
so we can affect the community in which we live and give glory
to our God. Tim Benson
