FreeShare @ Holy Trinity & St Saviour's

FreeShareActs 4:32-35 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

At a recent sermon given by Val Harris at Holy Trinity we were challenged about sharing resources amongst ourselves and also with those in need. She commented upon an initiative called FreeCycle and there are other projects in our area where unwanted / surplus items can be redistributed rather than going to waste.

We may also sometimes find ourselves with needs within the church family. Rather than rushing out and purchasing a hedge trimmer (which was one extremely good example given by Val) or whatever else we currently need, why not use our church global e-mail system to find out if the item you need is available either for temporary loan or for keeps? There are probably 20 or so hedge trimmers gathering dust in garages as I type which we could loan to one another….and when we upgrade our washing machine, it would be nice to know that we could help someone out there whose washing machine has just busted!

So that we're not all plagued with too many e-mails, I would propose limiting these to perhaps once a month, unless of course the need is urgent. So,

1. if you have a need or
2. an item which is available for others to borrow or
3. an item surplus to your requirements

please let me know by sending me an e-mail If it isn't an urgent need, I will put your item on a list to be e-mailed globally on the 1st Monday of each month. I will also create a paper copy to be displayed on the notice boards at both churches.

Let's share the resources which God has given us and live like Kingdom people!

Now there's a challenge!
